Monti Mcrae

Program Coordinator


Monti is an experienced manager, bringing a diverse and rich background in law enforcement, case management, and disaster recovery.  Her skills include account management, client services, government contracts, accounting, budgeting, reporting, housing development, social work, and medical administration.


Prior to her work with JHU, Monti worked for six years in the Mayor’s Office in New York City, where she supported the “Build It Back” disaster recovery program. In this position, which included many city-wide initiatives, she worked as a Client Relations Manager in numerous roles such as direct interaction and support to impacted citizens as well as the private construction sector. In prior positions, she worked as an officer with the NYPD in all five of NYC’s boroughs, as well as an intern with the LAPD.   She also has prior academic experience, serving with the University of Maine at Macias in their admissions office.  Monti’s holds a BPJ from SUNY Oswego, with a major in Public Justice and a minor in Forensic Science.  Her many talents and interests include building homes for the homeless, life coaching/counseling, community advocacy through her prior work in domestic violence shelters, family/men’s shelters and disaster recovery. Monti also enjoys reading and writing, and she is a published poet!
